My hope is that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that it was just the beginning of a tremendous holiday season! When I was growing up in suburban Chicago, my dad wrote a column for the Suburban Life newspapers called, Your World and Mine. Here's a look at some of what has happened in 2011 in your world and mine.

Congratulations and thank you to the three major casting companies in Chicago, O'Connor, Paskal & Rudnicke, and Simon, for their efforts in putting Chicago area actors to work! Commercial projects included a big series for WalMart, Illinois Lottery, and Carnival Cruises. TV shows Boss, The Playboy Club, Shameless. And, films including Man of Steel, and Contagion.

We were saddened by the passing of two talent agent icons; Mickey Grossman of Grossman Jack Talent, and Shirley Hamilton of the agency that bears her name. Both have left inspiring legacies, both professional and personal.

I am grateful to have performed in six episodes of the radio drama, Unshackled. To have had my Missouri Baptist Hospital TV commercial contract renewed and for the many voice over, on-camera, and theatre opportunities that continue to come my way.

Along those lines, a big "thank you" to Susie DeSantiago of DeSanti Talent (773.585.5843) for increasing my voice over opportunities by agreeing to rep me on a non-exclusive basis.

"The most basic and powerful way to connect to another person is to listen. Just listen. Perhaps the most important thing we ever give each other is our attention. A loving silence often has far more power to heal and to connect than the most well-intentioned words."
